MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Frankie Parker got a call from his 13-year-old daughter Monday shortly after she arrived at Geeter Middle School.

"She called me crying from school," said Parker.

He told us his daughter was upset that a man in a dark gray Nissan had forcefully offered her a ride, for the second time.  The man even told her she was "sexy."

"No child should have to go to school under those conditions, you know," said Parker.  "They deserve to go to school and not be harassed," he added.

Parker devised a plan Tuesday to catch the suspected creeper by trailing his daughter on her walk to school.

"But I stayed about 40 yards behind her and upon my getting to the crossing guard, across from the school, that's when he pulled in," said Parker.

Parker got the man's tag number and notified police.  They later tracked him down at a nearby apartment complex.

Edward Hyman, 26, was charged with aggravated stalking and attempted kidnapping.

"A person like that don't need to be on the streets," said neighbor Callia Bradley-Boyd.

She believes Parker's daughter also did the right thing by not taking a ride.

"Just, you know, keep walking," said Bradley-Boyd.  "And if you have to, holler for help," she added.

Parker hopes the arrest means his daughter is in the clear.

"When you do things less than becoming of a man, you know, you've got to be accountable for your actions," said Parker.

Edward Hyman is being held on a $75,000 bond.
