(WMC-TV) - Memphis runners are returning home from Boston, where two bombs exploded Monday killing three people and injuring more than 100.

The Martindale family from Collierville was in Boston for the marathon.

You could hardly miss Jeff Martindale in his bright yellow Boston Marathon shirt. He is glad to be home safe with his wife.

"Very glad to be home. I haven't looked forward to being home in a long time," said Jeff Martindale.

On Monday, Jeff's run was cut short from the explosions. He witnessed some of the horrific images we have seen on our television and computer screens.

"The police and military volunteers along the course were telling people to get off the course and eventually they told the runners that the finish line was closed the race was closed, that we needed to get off the main roads right away," said Jeff.

Martindale says he was moved by the hospitality displayed from the people of Boston during this tragedy.
