MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Derrick Partee said he couldn't let his 22 year-old baby brother Durrell Price get away with what police say he did late Thursday morning outside the Frayser Boulevard Kroger store.

"You shot an old lady, you know what I'm saying?" Partee said. "She got family out there and they want to press charges and want the job done."

Partee opened the door when officers showed up to his apartment complex just a few hundred yards from the store, despite his brother's wishes.

"He was crying, he was like "don't open the door," recalled Partee. "I was like no bro, I got to open the door because they going to have me in handcuffs."

Police said Price shot a woman three times in the legs after she refused to willingly hand over her purse. It was later found, along with a gun, at Partee's apartment. Police said they found Price hiding underneath a bed.

"So, I went on and showed them where he put his gun and stuff and hid all this information and what not," said Partee.

Partee said his brother just got out of jail two weeks ago after another robbery charge and hopes this latest arrest does the trick.

"Before the situation gets worser," said Partee. "Because they could have shot him."

The victim was taken to The MED in non critical condition after police said she positively identified Price as the trigger-man.

Price was booked into jail late Thursday and held without bond.
