Two dead, one critical in overnight car accidents

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – It's been a fatal weekend for Memphis drivers: two deadly crashes happened overnight.

At Getwell and Allenbrooke, two people were attempting to cross the street when they were hit by Charles McKinney, according to police.

The pedestrians were thrown on the sidewalk. McKinney's car hit a utility pole.

54-year old Gregory Redd was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was taken in extremely critical condition.

Another crash happened at Schoolfield and Lakeland just after 1 am involving two cars and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 25-year-old D'Marcus Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

36-year-old Robert Lee Ealy was arrested and charged with failure to yield to the right of way and driving with a suspended license.
