Randolph leads Grizzlies to 94-82 win over Clippers

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Grizzlies needed big games from their big men.

And All-Star Zach Randolph and Defensive Player of the year Marc Gasol delivered.

Thursday night, a sellout crowd at FedExForum witnessed the return of grit-and-grind, marked by suffocating defense and inside dominance on offense.

Randolph came out swinging, scoring 13 points in the first quarter. He finished with 27 points and 11 rebounds.

Gasol added 16 points and 8 boards.

The Grizzlies' bench was more productive at home, sparked by a career performance by reserve wing Quincy Pondexter.

Pondexter scored 13 points in 26 minutes of action. Keyon Dooling added seven, and Darrell Arthur and Jerryd Bayless scored five apiece.

Clippers guard Chris Paul was limited to only eight points on a 4-of-11 shooting night.

The Clippers now hold a 2-1 advantage.

The Grizzlies hope to even the series Saturday. Tipoff is at 3:30 at FedExForum.
