MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - It's May 1: opening day of registration for those running as "St. Jude Heroes" in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon and Half Marathon.

But you don't have to wait until Marathon Day, December 7 to be a Saint Jude Hero!

Your first chance to be a St. Jude Hero is this Sunday, May 5 at the 26th annual Oak Hall Run for St. Jude.

Race Director Leslie Aclin says you can register for the three-mile race online or at the Oak Hall store in East Memphis.

The event, Aclin says, will feature "barbecue by the Germantown Commissary -- the Y is doing a Fun Zone. We've got drinks. Whole Foods is giving away popsicles, then we have a great course."

The event takes place this Sunday Afternoon, May 5th at the Oak Hall store on Poplar in the Regalia.
