The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday, 87-81 to take a 2-1 lead in the best of seven Western Conference semifinals series.
Marc Gasol led the way for Memphis with 20 points, 9 rebounds, one of 4 Grizzlies players in double figures. Mike Conley and Tony Allen each had 14 points, Jerryd Bayless adding 11.
The Grizzlies won despite getting dominated on the offensive glass, 14-5 and in points in the paint, 44-30.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
The win gives Memphis a leg up, historically: entering the 2013 Playoffs, teams that lead a best-of-seven series two-games-to-one go on to win that series 82.1 percent of the time.
Game 4 between Memphis and OKC is Monday, 8:30 at FedExForum.
