JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Brad Bowles, who's spent the last 3 seasons as an assistant coach under Chuck Reedy at Goose Creek, was named the new Head Coach at St. John's on Tuesday.

Bowles has been in charge of the Outside Linebackers for the Gators since the 2010 season. Before that he spent the previous 7 seasons at various high schools in his home state of Tennessee.

"St. John's High School has landed an outstanding young man with the teaching skills to help every student-athlete he encounters reach their potential as a student, an athlete, and - most importantly - a future leader." said St. John's Principal William Runyon

Bowles becomes just the 4th head coach in the last 48 years for the Islanders. He replaces James Waring who resigned back in December after 4 years at the school.
