Grizzlies to face Spurs in conference finals

Posted: Updated:
(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Grizzlies now know who their next opponent will be.

The second-seeded San Antonio Spurs held off the Golden State Warriors 94-82 in Game 6 last night in Oakland.

Now they return home to face the surging Grizzlies Sunday at the AT&T Center.

This marks the Spurs' second consecutive appearance in the conference finals since falling to the Grizzlies in the first round of the 2011 playoffs.

Last year, they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder in six games after winning the first two at home.

It's been six years since the team's last trip to the NBA Finals, where they swept LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"I think everybody on the team, we all want to go one more time," point guard Tony Parker said. "It's been a long time."

Veteran forward/center Tim Duncan anticipates a hard-fought series with the Grizzlies.

"It's going to be a rough one, Duncan said. "If you thought this was physical, it's going to turn up about 10 notches."

The Grizzlies and Spurs split the regular season series, each team winning two games on their home court.

Tip-off is at 2:30 p.m. on ABC.

Tickets for games 3 and 4 in Memphis go on sale Saturday at noon. Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets in a separate event at 10 a.m.

Tickets will be available at ticketmaster.com, grizzlies.com, the FedExForum box office or by phone by calling 1-800-4-NBA-TIX.
