SAN ANTONIO, TX -

(WMC-TV) - It was a tough loss on the road for the Memphis Grizzlies in game one of the Western Conference Finals, but they have another shot to even up the score with the Spurs in San Antonio.

Bad defense, worse shooting, and the Spurs hitting everything from beyond the arc, downing Memphis 105-83.

The Spurs came out looking like four-time NBA champions, going up by as many as 17 in the first quarter and hitting a playoff franchise record with 14 three-pointers for the game.

The Grizzlies were never able to recover. Now it is back to the drawing board to fix what went wrong before Tuesday's game two.

"I can't really say that one guy flat out beat us, you know, they hurt us from a lot of angles," said guard Mike Conley. "Like I said, that penetration and getting into the sweet spot was hurtful to our defense."

"San Antonio played extremely well, we did not. That included making shots, that included second and third effort, diving on the floor, getting those balls, rebounding, every area we did not play as well. And we need to play better if we expect to play in this series. If we don't, we won't be," said Coach Lionel Hollins.

The Grizzlies and Spurs will practice Monday afternoon.
