MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Torrential rain hit just as drivers' were heading home from work Tuesday. It made for some interesting travel as East Memphis motorists had to endure water covered areas.

Many drivers sloshed through the flooded roadways while others stalled in the water.

"There were some who make it through it, and some who would stop and turn around and not go this way," said East Memphis resident Randall Rushing.

He said the flooding on Laverne Lane was impassable. The water went down pretty quickly, and he was able to remove debris off the drain.
