MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Police Department fired two of its officers following an investigation regarding threatening comments.

In administrative hearings, Marc Henderson, 32, and Parker Culver, 29, were officially terminated Wednesday for personal conduct and aid to violate regulation.

They were relieved of duty in early February after reports revealed the two officers made inappropriate comments considered threatening in nature to fellow officers.

There were also reports that the officers threatened to take over the gun room at the Ridgeway Station precinct where they both worked.

Police director Toney Armstrong said at the time that their behavior was unacceptable.

Also, he addressed rumors that Henderson and Culver were sovereign citizens, which was never substantiated.

"It's not something we take lightly and again I can assure these officers will be held responsible for those statements," said Armstrong in February.

Culver has been on the force since 2009, and Henderson since 2011.

Both officers are arguing their termination.
