MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The Grizzlies game Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs is causing a headache for the Westin Hotel in downtown Memphis. The hotel is overbooked and people who have had reservations for months are getting the boot.

Paul McCartney, Sunset Symphony, Memorial Day, and a Grizzlies game. It is no secret that Memphis is a hot place to be this weekend. But some visitors' plans are being derailed.

Every Memorial Day for the past six years, the Barker family reunion makes a trip from Chicago to downtown Memphis.

Twenty-two people make the trip.

"We love Memphis," said Regena Barker. "I booked seven rooms in December 2012 for this year."

The Barker family even bought tickets to game three of the Western Conference Finals. But as of Tuesday their plans are on hold.

"We got bounced by the Spurs," said Regena.

The Westin Hotel canceled their room reservations.

The hotel has an agreement with the NBA to provide rooms to visiting teams, so the hotel with no vacancies ended up overbooked.

"How can you overbook if we booked in December of 2012?" asked Regena. "I'm upset. I'm angry. I'm hurt."

The cancellation could end up ending a family reunion streak.

"Right now we're in limbo. We have no room," she added.

The Westin says the Barker's are not the only ones affected and that staff has been working around the clock to find other accommodations but, so far, have not been able to find any vacancies anywhere.
