Person shot multiple times outside restaurant

CORDOVA, TN -

(WMC-TV) – A Sunday afternoon shooting at a busy fast food restaurant in Cordova. Witnesses say the victim may have been meeting up with someone to buy or sell a phone off Craigslist.

Adam, who didn't want to use his last name, explains what he heard, "I heard four bangs and I thought it was a back fire or something.

It was just after 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon when Adam heard those sounds.

Adams says, "Then I heard somebody scream and then two guys ran across the parking lot and got in an SUV."

Police say a man was robbed in the McDonald's parking lot and shot three times in the stomach. He was taken to the MED in critical condition.

The two men Adam saw running, are believed to be suspects.

As traffic passed by on busy Germantown Parkway; shoppers were concerned.

Cordova resident Antonio Sykes said, "It's bad, the kids, I don't understand what's going on. You can't even go to McDonald's and be safe anymore."

Witnesses say the suspects and the man shot were meeting up for a Craigslist phone sale. Shoppers we spoke with said they'll think twice about using Craigslist after this incident.

Sykes said, "I used to do a lot of shopping on Craigslist, but now you have to go to Ebay. Craigslist is bad you if you want to get robbed."

Shopper Tiffiany White said, "It's dangerous you never know the person's intent on selling or the person's motive on selling or receiving. You just never know."

Police have not confirmed that this was a Craigslist deal gone bad, but if it was the victim did everything they recommend. You are to meet in a public place, during daylight, and around other people.

Police do not have anyone in custody.
