MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The case against a 14-year-old charged in the murder of his own mother is delayed indefinitely.

The teen is charged with first-degree murder of his mother Gwendolyn Wallace.

Early reports in April indicated that Wallace's husband had already left for work and that her son had gone for a walk.

Investigators said evidence from the fire suggests it was intentionally set. The victim's 14-year-old son was questioned in connection with the arson.

He admitted to detectives that he set the fire after a disagreement with his mother, but his story changed several times. One story indicated that his imaginary friend, Drake, set the fire. A Shelby County Juvenile Court judge tossed out the teen's confession.

Details about what prompted the delay have not been released. We will update this story with that information when it is received.

The juvenile's name will be not released by Action News 5 unless he is charged as an adult in the crimes.
