MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Raffle tickets for the 2013 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway sold out. That means there were 12,500 people registered to win the beautiful 4,000 square foot home in Eads, Tennessee. In the end, James Delaney of Collierville was named the winner of the luxurious home worth about $475,000.

For 23 years, Delaney has been the pastor of the St. John Baptist Church in Orange Mound.

Pastor James Delaney had no idea his Sunday sermon would speak such truth.

Pastor Delaney said, "Psalm 127, 1 - 5, my sermon title was ‘Let God Build the House ‘and here I am. Thank you, Lord."

Delaney's name was pulled from thousands in the hopper during a live Action News 5 broadcast Sunday. The four bedroom, three bathroom home is located 28 miles east of downtown Memphis.

Delaney's long preached to his congregation to donate to St. Jude. He too has donated for years.

But, this is the very first year he's actually bought tickets to win the St. Jude Dream Home.

His granddaughter, Destinee Delaney said, "I screamed for him. I tried to get him to jump up, but he's so cool, I jumped for him."

While Delaney was declared the winner of this incredible new home, everyone who donated to this fundraiser during the giveaway can smile knowing they are helping to continue the medical breakthroughs made possible through the research at St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Dozens of other prizes were awarded to the generous people who donated $100 to the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Click here for a complete list of winners.

It costs $1.8 million each day to run the children's hospital. Every penny of each donation will be given to St. Jude, in order to help the hospital find cures and treat children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Thank you to each of you who participated in the giveaway and to all of you who donate to St. Jude throughout the year. Your generosity is making a difference in the lives of everyone who seeks treatment and comfort from the wonderful and caring staff at St. Jude.
