Suspect on the run after early morning shooting

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Memphis police continue to look for the suspect who shot a man leaving for work Friday morning.

The man was robbed in his carport in Kirby Meadows. His family said he is recovering after surgery, but they want this suspect caught.

"It's real scary, it's real scary," said daughter Keisha Bunton.

Bunton said her father Larry, who is in his mid-50s, was shot and robbed inside his garage.

"Normally, the carport is open it's never closed. So I believe the guy might have been on the side of the house and that was how he approached him," she said.

Family and neighbors are on high alert because the suspect is still on the loose after the shooting

"My dad came back to the door and knocked on the door and his wife came and he said he was shot," said Bunton.

The only description from Memphis police is a male in a hooded sweatshirt. Bunton wants him found.

"Continue to pray for us and if you know anything call the police, because this real tragic," she said.

Bunton is upset that the suspect took off with her father's money, but thankful the outcome was not worse.

"Nothing has ever happened here before, we've never had anything like this, so, it was a shocker a big shocker," said Bunton.

The family and Memphis police urge anyone with information to come forward by calling 901-528-CASH.
