Four Memphis police officers relieved of duty

CORDOVA, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Four Memphis officers were relieved of duty following a domestic altercation.

According to the affidavit, Officer Steven Saffold slapped his girlfriend, Karen Love, in the face during an argument Sunday in Cordova. Officers Ryan Mendoza and Prinshere Hall witnessed the fight.

Mendoza, Hall, and Love went to the domestic violence bureau to give statements.

All four officers were relieved of duty pending the outcome of this investigation.

Saffold was charged with domestic assault. He has been employed by the Memphis Police Department since February 2009 and is a member of the Organized Crime Unit.

Steven Saffold is due to face a judge on the domestic assault charge on July 17th.
