DYER COUNTY, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Cooking on the grill is what most Americans do on the Fourth of July, but folks who live near the Swift house in Dyer County are also thinking about their neighbor Karen Swift.

Swift was murdered more than a year and a half ago.  Dyer County deputies searched the Swift home Wednesday night.

"I would think by now they would have some information for the community where they are at in their investigation, if they have any suspects after this long time." " said neighbor Louann Woodward.

David Swift still lives in the home with the couple's two children.  It is at least the second time the home has been searched.  Investigators say the search warrant, and what was found in the house, is sealed.

"We'll examine what was revealed in the search warrant, put it along with the other evidence that we have in this case and hopefully move forward," stated Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box.

"I figure they ain't got nothing," said neighbor Richard Wyrick.  "I think if they had something they'd already made an arrest. Jeff Box is a good sheriff."

Karen Swift was divorcing her husband but still lived in the home. She disappeared from the house on Halloween weekend 2011.  Her car was discovered with a flat tire not far from the home, and her body discovered more than a month later near an old cemetery also not far from the home.

"I think it needs to be resolved, so she can rest," stated neighbor Donnie Brown.

No suspects have been named in the case. David Swift's attorney was unavailable to comment today.
