MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – When you're celebrating a birthday, it's easy to get excited.  But some would argue the best way to celebrate America's birthday is with hundreds of fans packed into Autozone Park.

Veterans Jimmy and Doyle Stanhouse were here for a little father-son Fourth of July Celebration.

"It's a good American tradition.  Baseball and America, it's like all combined together," said Doyle.

"I had a brother play professional baseball.  So I'm pretty well into baseball," Jimmy said.

Baseball at Autozone Park is a new tradition for the Thomas family.

"It's our first time here, our boys first time to see so we're excited," said Jennifer Thomas.

"This is great, we're excited about seeing some fireworks and seeing a good baseball game," James Thomas said.  "Looking forward to some good family time."

But nothing says tradition like catching a foul ball in the stands.  It was Terry Tharp's first foul ball.

"I felt like it was a magnet to my glove, so I was just excited," explained Tharp.
