Two arrested in Mt. Juliet attempted robbery

MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -

Two suspects are under arrest and a third remains on the run after an attempted robbery in which a gunshot was fire Thursday evening in Mt. Juliet.

Police say a 23-year-old man reported that he was in the 700 block of Curd Road when two men approached about 8 p.m. A brief struggle ensued, and police say a single round was fired in the victim's direction.

He was not hit, and no other injuries have been reported.

Police arrived after a neighbor reported hearing the gunshot, but the victim and suspects had already left the scene.

The victim later arrived at police headquarters to speak with officers.

Roderick Majors, 23, of Lebanon, and Mario Newsome, 24, of Nashville, were arrested Friday and each charged with attempted robbery and criminal conspiracy. A 17-year-old male was involved as well, but he has not been apprehended, police said.

Newsome faces an addition charge of trespassing after he was located at a Lebanon public housing from he had been banned.
