Garvin Adds Five Additions To Bulldog Roster This Season

ORANGEBURG, SC -

South Carolina State men's head basketball coach Murray Garvin announces the addition of five newcomers to the Bulldog program for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

Heading the list of newcomers is freshmen (6-6, 200) forward Patrick Kirksey of Simpsonville, SC; guard's Jalen White (6-1, 185) of Charlotte, NC and Greg Mortimer (6-3, 175) of Savannah, GA.

Also joining the Bulldog roster are (6-2, 180) junior point guard Darrion Eastman of Fayetteville, NC, a transfer from Brunswick Community College and sophomore shooting guard Jordan Smith a (6-5, 190), of Palmetto, Fla a transfer from Brevard Community College.

Among the four starters returning are Second Team All-MEAC senior forward Matthew Hezekiah (6-11, 235) ; sophomore All MEAC Rookie Team selection Darryl Palmer (6-7 , 201) and guards senior Adama "Louis" Adams (6-1, 180) and junior Devin Joint (6-4, 195).

"I think we have a group of young men that can compete and get the job done to bring Bulldog basketball back to its winning tradition of building championships," said Garvin. "I'm excited about the season and getting things started so we can turn things around here at the University."
