Porter-Gaud rising senior Michael Preddy announced on his Twitter account Friday that he's committed to Georgia Tech. The Cyclones star made his decision while he was on the Yellow Jackets campus for an unofficial visit.
Preddy was also considering Louisville, Rutgers and Wake Forest.
"I considered other schools in the recruiting process but only Georgia Tech offered everything I was looking for." Preddy told Live 5. "Tech is the perfect place for me, ACC, big city, great coaching staff, a tradition of success, and tremendous athletics."
Preddy put up big numbers for Porter-Gaud at Defensive End last season. But he said he'll be playing Offensive Line at Georgia Tech, although he could play some on the defensive line as well.
His Head Coach at Porter-Gaud Rick Reetz has nothing but praise for his player.
"We are very excited that Michael has committed to Georgia Tech. He is mature beyond his years, is an intelligent young man, and handles himself with great poise and maturity. Michael has worked hard to improve his game while keeping an eye on academics. Being at Porter-Gaud has prepared him well for success on the football field and in the classroom and I am excited that he will have the opportunity to play at a high level at such a great academic institution."
"Georgia Tech is getting a tremendous young man and we couldn't be happier for Michael and his family today. Michael is entering only his second year of playing high school football, and I am sure he will continue developing even further at the college level. He is athletic, has a big frame and size, and he has such great potential. He has all of the attributes of a successful Division 1 athlete and now you can see him really starting to come into his own on the field. It's going to be exciting for everyone here at Porter-Gaud to see him play this year, and to later see his progress at Georgia Tech."
