(WMC-TV) - Two Redbirds are flying high after earning their way to the AAA All Star Game.

It's a tale of two players. One known for his pitching prowess while the other known for swinging a big bat. 21-year-old Michael Wacha is the budding future of the St. Louis Cardinals; 29-year-old Brock Peterson the experienced batter who's played nearly 1,000 minor league games. Differences aside, both guys are equal in value to the Memphis Redbirds.

Wacha is absolutely thrilled with the opportunity.

"It's an unbelievable honor, just to be able to go and represent Memphis. You know, I'm looking forward to going out there with Brock Peterson. I think he's well deserving [and] he's a heck of a hitter," stated Wacha.

Wacha's 2.78 ERA is tops for any Redbird pitcher who's thrown at least 45 innings. Peterson's strength is in homers, slugging percentage, and RBI's.
