(WMC-TV) - Thousands of civilian employees in Washington state were required to stay home Friday.

The cause of the mandatory break from work? Federal sequestering cuts.

"To say well, you can't work because they can't get the budget straightened out. Yeah, I'm angry and hurt," stated furloughed worker Lori Hines.

Hines also stated she and her husband will lose 40 percent of their combined income over the next three months.

The furlough affected 67,000 workers Friday. 10,000 civilians who work at the base have been told they will have to take one unpaid day off per week for the next 11 weeks.
