Police officer accused of stealing pink iPhone case, official misconduct

BRIGHTON, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A Brighton police officer has been indicted by a Tipton County grand jury on official misconduct, theft of property, and casually exchanging a controlled substance.

Jimmy L. Hubbard, 25, is accused of stealing a pink iPhone case from the police department and exchanging Lortab (a controlled substance) with a woman in exchange for sex.

According to the indictment, Hubbard engaged in sexual activity with the woman while he was on duty. He also reportedly gave her evidence seized from the police department.

Hubbard has since resigned from his position. He is due back in court December 5.
