BIRMINGHAM, AL -

(WMC-TV) - SEC Media Days wrap up Thursday in Birmingham. Ole Miss Quarterback Bo Wallace is now getting national attention despite rehabbing from an off-season shoulder surgery.

Wallace was named among 34 players on the Davey O'Brien Award watch list. The award is given each year to the nation's top collegiate quarterback.

The 6'4" junior threw for almost 3,000 yards last year with 22 passing touchdowns and eight rushing touchdowns.

Wallace says it is all about buying into head coach Hugh Freeze' message.

"His big thing was play out of love for each other and that's something that we did," said Bo Wallace. "You know, was I surprised about it? No. I wasn't at all because when I first got there, I felt like we had talent. The expectations was you know, maybe they won't even beat Central Arkansas, but we never bought into anything like that. We always believed."

The Rebels kick off the season August 29 with an SEC game at Vanderbilt.
