CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A district attorney's son already accused in a home invasion is now also accused of stealing from his parents.

A grand jury indicted John Carney III and four other men for conspiring to rob a Fort Campbell soldier.

The indictment says the group tied the soldier up with electrical tape and threatened to cut him with a knife if he didn't give them money and weapons.

It goes on to say the soldier complied and gave Carney and the men the number to his safe out of fear for himself and his young sons, who were in the home.

Police say the group got away with $3,000 in cash.

Carney is the son of Montgomery County District Attorney John Carney Jr., who has said his son has had issues with prescription medicine.

In a separate case, John Carney III is accused of stealing more than $10,000 worth of items from his parents' home.
