Bartlett police officer placed on 24-day suspension, six months probation

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - A Bartlett police officer charged in June with domestic assault was given a 24-day suspension without pay and six months of probation following an internal investigation. The police department confirmed the disciplinary action Monday even though charges against the officer were reportedly dropped earlier this month.

Police say they arrested officer Quentin Crowley, a former Marine, after a verbal altercation that turned physical last month. He reportedly pushed his wife, Amanda, who fell and hit the back of her head on a hardwood floor.

Police were called to the hospital where Amanda told them the fight was regarding marital problems.

One document recommended Crowley for Bartlett Police Department's 2012 Weddendorf Award. The recommendation describes him as "an employee who knows his strengths and finds away (sic) to use them to make sure he is a vital part of the police department."
