PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Everything appears business as usual at Phoenix Sky Harbor.

The security checkpoints are stringent, but moving smoothly, flights are running on time and some arrivals are making it ahead of schedule. However, a new warning has travelers watchful of their surroundings.

The State Department issued a warning to all travelers heading out of the country. It says a possible terror plot has been detected, and all international travelers should be aware of it.

Tres Chapman plans to go out of the country next week.

"Definitely going to be more alert." Chapman says, "but I don't want to go crazy either."

With several international flights every day and dozens more connecting to trips around the globe, many travelers come through Phoenix.

"It really puts a damper on wanting to go anywhere," LuAnn Rohe said. "That's what I'm trying to talk my daughter out of."

Rohe says her daughter will be heading to Europe this month. With the terror attacks of 9/11 still fresh on her mind, Rohe is now giving that trip another look.

TSA officials note no significant changes have been made in response to the alert.

"It still makes you really nervous and really concerned for everyone traveling overseas," she said.

The State Department says the potential for terror attacks is particularly focused on the Middle East, including North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula however, the warning is extended to all international travelers.

The alert expires August 31.
