(WMC-TV) - Four bikers are in critical condition after two separate crashes in North Mississippi Friday night, according to officials.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said three bikers were airlifted to The MED after being hit by a SUV in Tunica.

Preliminary information reveals that two motorcycles, with one being occupied with two riders, turned onto Highway 61 from Highway 4. That is when they were struck by the SUV.

The three riders were airlifted with life-threatening injuries.

The fourth biker hit in a different crash was airlifted to The MED, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department. The accident happened on Highway 713 and Highway 69.

Authorities are urging residents to be aware and watch for motorcycles. There is a biker festival underway for the weekend in Tunica with more than 20,000 motorcycles in the area.
