Hotel to pay Memphis man after dangerous break-in

(WMC-TV) - A hotel is ordered to pay a Memphis man after three men broke into his room holding a cattle prod, a machete, and a bat.

A judge ordered Drury Inn on Sycamore View Road to pay Randall Anglin $24,999.99 after his ex-wife's brother and friends gained access to his hotel room last November.

The men repeatedly approached the front desk to gain access to Anglin's room.

Anglin's attorney, Jim Marty, stated the hotel employees knew the men were trying to track Anglin.

"At no time did anyone call Mr. Anglin and say there's someone down here looking for you," explained Anglin's attorney Jim Marty.

Anglin was able to hold the suspects at bay with a gun until police arrived.

Action News 5 called the Drury Inn hotel and corporate office in Nashville and did not receive a response.

According to Marty, two of the suspects are now in the hands of the criminal justice system. The third suspect took his own life.
