Student arrested for bringing knife to school in backpack

 (WMC-TV) - A Ross Elementary student was arrested Wednesday morning for bringing a knife to school in his backpack.

The Memphis Police Department is investigating the incident. Action News 5 is working to learn more and will have the latest at 10 p.m.

In less than a week, two guns were found in students' backpacks at two different schools. One of the guns discharged in an elementary school cafeteria, and the other gun was unloaded on a middle school campus. Also, this week two girls were stabbed walking home from school.
