Boil-water alert issued for Quitman, Panola Counties

(WMC-TV) - The Mississippi State Department of Health issued a boil-water alert for the towns of Crowder and Lambert in Quitman County Tuesday. MSDH also issued an alert for Como in Panola County.

The alert for the three towns affects approximately 3,745 people. The alert is for customers receiving their drinking water from the water supply located in Quitman County.

It is unclear when the alert will be lifted. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
