Wildcats want revenge on Brooks County

Posted: Updated:
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Wildcat fans would prefer you not remind them what happened last season when Brooks County entered Death Valley.

The Trojans feared no evil and walked out as 28-24 winners, their first victory in series history.

The Wildcats haven't forgotten that day, and say they plan to avenge the loss Friday night when the Trojans return to Bazemore-Hyder.

Head coach Rance Gillespie says his team knows exactly how good Malkolm Parrish and the Trojans are and what they have to do to keep Brooks County from stealing another win.

But Gillespie adds he isn't adding any extra motivation for his players this week.

"To our best ability, we try to approach each week the same. And that's what we want to do," says Gillespie. "Certainly, we do remember what happened last year. And I feel like our kids will be ready to play."

Valdosta will aim to get back on the winning side of the series Friday night. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
