(WMC-TV) - Investigators in one Tennessee county are conducting an intense search Sunday evening.

In Somerville, agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigators have been scouring an area deep in the woods off Highway 64.

Conflicting reports are surfacing about what exactly happened in the Fayette County woods. However, we do know officers from the Somerville Police Department and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office have been searching the woods, ditch, and surrounding fields.

According to witnesses, it all started when a car was found. This car may link to a missing person.

The search appears to have been called off around nightfall. But, authorities do plan to return around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Deputies will remain throughout the night to guard the road that leads back to the wooded area.
