Man exposes himself in traffic near school bus

(WMC-TV) - Germantown police say a man gave a bus load of teenagers an eye full on their way home from a field trip.

A man exposed himself while in traffic, according to police. The suspect is finally in jail Friday after an observant chaperone helped catch him.

It took a week to catch the suspect.

"You know, he kind of has that creepy looking face, and I'm just glad he's off the street," said the chaperone, who did not want to be identified.

This East Memphis charter school parent is glad she helped in the arrest of an indecent exposure suspect.

"He didn't realize there was going to be adult chaperone on the trip," she said .

The stay-at-home mom was a chaperone late last week on board a school bus heading home from the Delta Fair.

"All of the sudden one of the children brought it to my attention," she said.

A silver Taurus had pulled alongside the bus in a stretch of Germantown Road near Farmington Boulevard.

"I looked over out the window and this guy was in the car just fondling himself," said the chaperone.

She says the indecent act continued as the bus load of mostly 11th graders approached Poplar Avenue.

"They were like traumatized, because they were like 'ewww,' " she said.

Police later identified the suspect as 32 year-old Darin Scott Little of Memphis. According to a police report, Little had on only a shirt and nothing from the waist down.

He was arrested Friday morning without incident at boarding house off Bellevue in Memphis.

"I got the license plate number, make and model of the vehicle, and I gave the police everything I could give them," said the chaperone.

At least one teenager was also able to identify Little in lineup.

Police say Darin Little admitted to being in traffic when the incident occurred. He has no previous criminal history in Shelby County.
