LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators say a suspected burglar in Lebanon crawled out of a broken drive-thru window to try to escape.

Officers arrested Michelle Welsh outside of the Casa Del Sol Mexican Restaurant on Sunday night.

Police responded after receiving a phone call reporting a possible burglary in progress at the business.

The caller told police they heard glass break and saw someone crawling into the restaurant through a window.

When officers contacted Welsh, she dropped the stolen items and tried to run away, police said.

Officers arrested her after a short chase, within a block of the scene.

She stole approximately $100 in cash, a portable safe, a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone, as well as checkbooks from the business, police said.

All of the items were recovered and returned to the owner.

Welsh faces charges of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglar tools and resisting arrest.

She was taken to the Linn County Jail and lodged pending arraignment.

Welsh is due in court Monday afternoon.
