WHITEHAVEN, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The fake health inspectors will be in court this Monday.

According to the Memphis police, two people, who acted as if they were inspecting a restaurant, are being accused robbing the store.

Marcus Williams, 27, is charged with criminal impersonation and theft of property.

Witnesses told police Williams and a female accomplice told the owner of L&S Fish on Winchester Road they worked for the health department.

While the owner was distracted, $800 and a purse were stolen.

Another manager stated there was no reason to doubt their story.

"They started telling people you have soap but no hand sanitizer in the bathroom. You need hand sanitizer. It got her off guard," explained Nasar Fazlullah.

In addition to the incident at the seafood restaurant, Williams is being charged with over two dozen similar crimes.

His bond is set at $305,000.
