Midtown, TN -

(WMC-TV) - The zoo is celebrating its annual Harvest Fest Saturday and Sunday.

Organizers stated the atmosphere will take participants back in time with sheep shearing, potter wheel demonstrations, and a blacksmith.

"This is kind of a cool way to celebrate the simpler life. Sometimes we get caught up in busy things going on. Especially at the zoo, it's a great place to unwind with the family on the weekend. Some of the things you see being done here are how they used to do it in the olden days," said Abbey Dany.

Saturday's scheduled wrapped up at 4 p.m. However, this event will continue tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Memphis Zoo.

The entertainment schedule for Sunday is as follows:

  • Side Street Steppers: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Delta Rhythm Cloggers: 1:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
