Local organizations help with marketplace enrollment

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - The Shelby County Health Department will be available to help those shopping for health plans in the marketplace, which opens October 1. The marketplace, created by the Affordable Care Act, is a one-stop shop to find and compare private health insurance options.

To assist residents in determining eligibility and enrolling into the plan of their choice, navigators, also known as enrollment specialists, are available through Seedco, Memphis Health Center and Christ Community Health Centers.

For more information, the Health Department encourages uninsured residents to visit www.healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596 where operators are available 24 hours a day to answer questions.
