MADISON, TN (WSMV) -

A man has been arrested in connection to a funeral home fire in Madison last month.

Police say 21-year-old Steven Horner confessed to the crime during an interview at the Madison Precinct Thursday night.

According to the affidavit, Horner broke into the Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sept. 8, set the fires and then robbed the place. Police say 17 fires were set.

Horner confessed he stole about $2,500 worth of computers, PalmPilots and other electronics. Police say the damage to the building is more than $500,000.

In addition to aggravated burglary and aggravated arson charges, Horner is also charged with criminal impersonation and felony attempted child neglect.

When police showed up at Horner's home on Comanche Run to arrest him, they say he gave them a fake name.

Officers say the home he shares with his 7-month-old daughter was in deplorable condition, smelled of feces and urine and was infested with roaches.

Horner's bond was set at $100,000.
