West Ashley's Ruff Commits To CSU

Posted: Updated:

West Ashley LB Bobby Ruff made his verbal commitment to Charleston Southern on Wednesday night. He Later confirmed the decision on Twitter.

"Tonight I decided to commit my next 4 years to play football for Charleston Southern University #GoBucs #D1Dreams" Ruff said on Twitter.

Charleston Southern head coach Jamey Chadwell isn't allowed to talk about specific recruits until they sign their letter of intent, but he did seem excited about a recruit from the Lowcountry commiting to his program.

"Winner Winner chicken dinner, great news from the 843 tonight, BUCS JUST GOT BETTER #whosenext"

Ruff said in a statement to Live 5 that CSU offered him opportunities on and off the field. "CSU allows me to combine my faith education and football, the coaches were all so nice to me I just fell in love. Going there also allows me to be a Young Life leader in college which is a major part of my life. It's just awesome to be a part of a great new FAMILY" Ruff said. "And this was Gods plan for me all along!"

Ruff has been one of the leading tacklers for the 4-3 Wildcats this season and scored a touchdown in their win over Colleton County earlier this season.
