HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One woman was killed in a fatal early morning accident on Sunday.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Henry, the three vehicle accident occurred around 12 a.m. Sunday morning on I-20 west of Bolton.

A 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Alonda Calvin,40, was struck in the rear of the vehicle by a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 45-year-old, John Williamson.

Calvin was killed as a result of the accident.

Calvin was driving slowly because of a tire issue eastbound in the right lane of I-20 when Williamson struck her vehicle from behind.

The Ford Focus Calvin was driving was knocked partially in the median and into the left lane.

According to Trooper Henry, there were two other passengers in the Focus.  Stacy Hudson, 33, who was the front passenger and Beverly Smith, 37, the rear passenger.

Calvin and Hudson exited the vehicle to access the damage. While checking the damage done to the vehicle, a 2009 Cadillac STS, driven by Bruce Thompson, 60, struck Calvin's vehicle again.

As a result of the second collision, Calvin was killed and died at the scene of the accident. She was either struck by the Cadillac or by her own vehicle.

Ms. Hudson, a passenger of the Ford was air lifted to UMC. Ms. Smith was not injured.

The driver of the Tahoe, Williamson and a passenger were not injured, Trooper Henry said.

Bruce Thompson and Mae Thompson, 59, who was a passenger in the Cadillac were both transported to St. Dominic Hospital.

Trooper Henry said the second collision is still being investigated.
