ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- American Trucking Associations President and CEO Bill Graves, along with ATA's incoming and outgoing chairmen, today opened the Management Conference & Exhibition's grand exhibit hall.
"We in the trucking industry are exceptionally fortunate to have a vibrant and involved supplier community," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "The advances on this exhibit floor will help our industry move forward to a very bright and prosperous future."
Graves was joined for the ceremonial ribbon cutting by outgoing ATA Chairman Mike Card, president of Combined Transport Inc., Central Point, Ore., and incoming chairman Phil Byrd, president of Bulldog Hiway Express, Charleston, S.C.
"Our industry moves the vast majority of our nation's freight and is safer and more efficient than ever before," Card said, "and a lot of that progress is due to the hard work and innovation of our suppliers."
"I never fail to walk away from our exhibit hall impressed with the variety of technologies and services that our allied partners put on display for us," said Byrd. "Without them, our job of delivering America's most essential goods would be nearly impossible so we thank them for their efforts and for being here today."
The hall features nearly 172 exhibitors, including 35 companies attending for the first time.
