Family shocked as details around murder suspect emerge

MISSISSIPPI -

(WMC-TV) - Shocking details continue to emerge about murder suspect Michael Wright. The latest, according to police, even surprised one family.

Sharice Latham claimed she was kidnapped by Wright. However, her family just learned she is actually married to him.

Wright has been missing for more than two weeks. Originally, he was out on bail while facing charges in connection to the murder of a woman in Panola County, Mississippi.

Investigators believe, while out on bond, Wright killed again.  This time, the victim was Latham's uncle, Jerry Brent, in Utica, Mississippi.

Family members say that Brent recently moved to the area from Texas to take care of his bedridden mother.

"My grandmother told me, during that morning, she heard Sharice hollering, "help, help, help"... Once the shot was made, she heard Sharice hollering, "I'll go, I'll go, I'll go". That's all she heard," stated Brent's daughter, Santina Brent.

According to police, Latham said Wright kidnapped her after the murder. However, later, she managed to escape.

Officials have confirmed they are now questioning that story after inconsistencies were discovered. They are no longer in contact with Latham.

Meanwhile, Wright is still on the run and U.S. Marshals are posting fliers of him all over Mississippi.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for his capture.

If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-2274.
