JACKSON, TN -

(WMC-TV) - A Tennessee sheriff has until Thursday evening to surrender his firearms.

Sheriff David Woolfork, of Madison County, Tennessee, denied harassing one of his employees. Previously, Woolfork admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with the same deputy.

Under the order of protection filed by Deputy Sharon Sangster, Woolfork's deadline in 8 p.m. Thursday.

However, according to WBBJ, Woolfork is convinced he does not have to surrender his guns.

Woolfork stated he believes he has a longer time frame because he has filed an appeal.

The judge can find the Jackson sheriff for contempt if he does not obey the protection order.
