MY TURN: Remembering the medical team lost in chopper crash

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - I'd like to use my time this week to remember the medical flight team that was lost in the helicopter crash this week.

Denise Adams, Carrie Barlow and Charlie Smith gave their lives doing the jobs they all loved. They are among hundreds of people in our lives who take on added risk every day to serve us.

Policemen, firemen, emergency medical workers, military personnel, and many other everyday citizens put themselves on the line to help make all of our lives better.

In the case of these three heroes, they were making life better for sick children who needed emergency transportation to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

We honor them and send our prayers to their families.

A fund has been established for each of the victims' three families. If you would like to help, checks can be made payable to the Le Bonheur Foundation. Please designate to whom your donation should be given.

Checks can be mailed to the following address:

Le Bonheur Foundation
P.O. Box 41817
Memphis, TN 38174

Donations can also be made online, click here: https://events.lebonheur.org/helpfund

And finally, donations can also be made in their honor to the Pedi-Flite team by clicking here: http://www.lebonheur.org/donatenow.

That's my turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email yourturn@wmctv.com or call 800-465-1210.
