MPD respond to 6 different incidents, 3 shootings, 1 arson

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) – Breaking News from the Action News 5 newsroom…

Memphis Police responded to six different incidents Saturday evening, including 3 shooting scenes, 2 automobile accidents, and 1 arson related to a domestic dispute.

Officers responded to a Texaco gas station in the 1200 block of Getwell around 6:15 p.m. They found two people shot and are investigating two crime scenes.  A gold-colored late model car was found at the gas station with the windows shot out.  Both victims were transported to The Med in critical condition.  No suspect information has been made available.

MPD also received a call to respond to the 700 block of Pendleton Avenue around 7:25 p.m., where a man had poured gasoline on his girlfriend and allegedly set her on fire.  The victim is in non-critical condition and the suspect is in custody.

Officers also responded to the 2400 block of Meier Drive at around 7:20 p.m., where a 36-year-old man had been robbed and shot.  The victim is in non-critical condition.  Investigators are looking for a 27-year-old male wearing all black clothing, and driving a black Ford Explorer, last seen headed westbound towards Chevron Road.

A woman was hit by a vehicle in the 1200 block of North Germantown Parkway near a Kentucky Fried Chicken store around 6:45 p.m.  That victim has been transported to The Med in critical condition.

In another incident, a man walked to Fire Station #26 near Steele and Dellwood.  He told officers he had been shot.  That victim was taken to The Med in non-critical condition.  No suspect information is available at this time.

And a three-vehicle accident temporarily closed the northbound leg of I-240 near Walnut Grove Road.  One male has been arrested for DUI involving this accident.  That portion of the interstate has been cleared and allowed to re-open.
