Suspect in custody after police chase on I-75

A suspect is in custody after leading police on a chase in Toledo onto I-75 South.

According to police, 27-year-old Jerry Saunders led police on a chase for several minutes after fleeing the scene during a traffic stop.  The chase reportedly began on Lewis Ave. in West Toledo before heading to Sylvania Ave. and eventually I-75.  Police used spike strips to slow the suspect, but he kept going until all tires were flat..

The chase ended underneath the Monroe St. overpass near Collingwood.  Several police cars and an ambulance were at the scene, and the suspect's vehicle has since been towed.  There were no injuries in the chase.
